to look at this piece you would never guess it is over 120 years old
but it is,
i purchased it along with a matching chest and nightstand several years ago.
i liked the clean lines.
it was painted originally, but very worn.
i simply gave it a coat of white paint,
and taped off same size stripes on the sides.
using a mixture of black with brown paint,
i completed the stripes, drawers, and a block pattern on the top surface.
once it was dry,
i simply glazed over the entire surface to dull the white and protect the dark paint.
added porcelain round vintage knobs
and she was done.
could not have been easier
and requires no special painting skills.
i don't know about you,
but it looks "designer" to me.
thanks for stopping by today,

Love this dresser. What kind of paint glaze did you use?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty you've turned it into! I seem to lack painting skills. I tend to go the decoupage route. This piece is stunning!
