Have you ever pictured a project in your head,
and found yourself disappointed when the item was completed?
Me, too, but fortunately this isn't one of those projects :)
This antique baby bed was originally purchased when I first opened for display.
It sat around and took up a LOT of space, until it was relegated to the backlot.
It got rusty and needed something.
It was sandblasted, refitted, welded, and painted.
I made a dust ruffle, french ruffle mattress cover, and three oversized feather pillows.
The French ruffles add wonderful detailing on the mattress/seat cushion,
While the 5" flouncy ruffles look good on the oversized pillows.
All while staying "green" by using canvas dropcloths......total cost for fabric $32.00....
And the bonus is it looks like flax or linen.....
I used up the last of the old burlap peanut tow sacks by making this ruffled table cover....
It's all going to the Dolly Johnson Antique and Art Show in
Fort Worth this Thursday and Friday....
Come see me if you can....
Thanks for stopping by today...
You know I love it when you come.
I'm joining Kathleen's White Wednesday this week.
