Shabby Little Vanity

I've always made it a habit not to advertise the price I pay for things.....
It's just not good business.

I will tell, however, this piece was a "song".
Maybe because it should have really been on the curb
Instead of given to charity for someone like me to buy.

Dark wood....in several pieces, but with good bones.

The mirror was there...in good shape
and
that was a definite bonus.

The drawer was in pieces and had to be rebuilt,
but my man can do anything.

I'm probably one of the only ones left in this world
That doesn't use all the new paints on the market.
No chalk paint, no milk paints....

Just plain old flat wall paint
with a coat of light brown floor wax on top.

Still works for me :)

Thanks for stopping by today,
You know I love it when you come.

This week I am joining the following parties:

  5. Yana,it's lovely. It's refreshing to here someone say they don't use all the new paints out there. It goes to show what you can do with good old fashioned elbow grease. LOL. xx

  7. Looks beautiful! I've never done much re-painting and wonder how the wax works. It just dries like a paint and doesn't smudge or come off? Its very cool!

  12. Hi, I discovered your blog today and think it is wonderful.

I just wanted to share that I too love using wall paint for my projects. You cannot beat the large variety of soft faded colors wall paint comes in. I cannot justify buying the new trendy paints that come in a minimum choice of light colors, making all my pieces the same exact color.

  13. It's beautiful, Jana! I've been wondering about using flat with a regular paste wax on top!

Thank you for sharing at Potpourri Friday!
