Welcome to another White Wednesday with mine being full of beautiful antique and vintage laces and crochet. . I have been putting these pillows together for about five years now.....ever since I spent months at my Mother's during her breast cancer treatment. We sat for hours and hours....if I hadn't had my sewing machine and my big box of lace, I'm certain I would have gone completely crazy. I enjoyed making them so much that I have continued to create them, selling them in my store and online. There are no rules, and I love the challenge of using even the smallest piece of old lace so as not to waste a thing. These are especially nice when filled with a feather or down insert.......and are even washable so to last a lifetime....
The laces and crochet pieces are sewn together in a crazy quilt style for wonderful impact.
This technique even looks beautiful in a bolster style pillow.......
For those "asymmetrical" artists out there.....matching laces in a uniform pattern.
Also, if you are of the creative sort and love projects that take only an afternoon and have big bang for their buck, I invite you to join us for the very first "Quick Project Thursday".....simply grab my button, link back to my blog to include all participants and let me know you are playing so I can link to you as well. No special rules.....can be food, gardening, crafts, sewing, organizing...anything that has great impact and is a quick project. If you want to see more whites today.......hop over to Faded Charm and see what everyone else has ready for you today....they are always beautiful!
