DARE I ????

Isn't this a fabulous piece?
I love it, too, but it's been sitting around for about a year.
Sure, it's big being almost 7' long, and it's also pretty pricey.

But it also looks very dated....
Now could that be it's because it's over 70 years old?
Probably, but that doesn't mean it has to show it's age, does it?

So, the next question is....
DARE I?

Dare I paint this beautiful wood to make it more
Appealing for today's market?

I've picked the absolutely perfect color from Behr....

"Vintage Blue".

A beautiful blue with a touch of grey.....

So, what do you say?

Do I dare?

Check back later this week to see what actually does
happen with this wonderful piece.

  1. I dare you. It is lovely and I am sure it would sell. I have a bedroom set that I want to paint but it would be a daunting task LOL. LOL

  3. Why don't you first try using two different shades of stain to give it a fresh look instead of covering the piece with paint? Or maybe just a white wash on all the areas but the recessed ones? Not solid paint coverage... I just think the wood is so pretty. Leave the top alone?? idk. Just my thinking...

  4. I am going to let YOU decide! I can see both sides of the coin. I love the color but then you wonder if you will regret giving up the beautiful old wood in the end. xo Diana

  6. I love the color and love how it turned out. I went to Home Depot to buy a sample of Vintage Blue, but they couldn't find the color in their computer. Are you sure it's called Vintage Blue?
