Sometimes You Just Have to Make "Something"

The vacuum cleaner stood in the center of the floor, the fabric needed to be put away, and don't even remind me the litter boxes need to be filled and the burnt out light bulbs replaced........because RIGHT NOW I have to make something.
Do you ever feel that the real world gets in the way of your creative side? I know creating is what keeps me going and the creative juices never stop flowing. Unfortunately, there is just not always enough time to get done what HAS to get done and to sit down in the studio and go inside my own world of what I call "making something". Today, however, that is exactly what I did.
Just an old 1950's jewelry box, but with gorgeous pink velvet lining became my starting place......I topped it with vintage papers, laces, trims, and even an old piece of antique murano glass from a broken mirror I just couldn't discard. Not the most intensive of projects, but one that gave me some satisfaction for the moment where I can get on with my day until I just can't take it anymore and wander back into that special room I call my own......to make something else that just can't wait!

  1. I am soooooooo glad it is not just me that has no ME TIME!!! I can't seem to get it all done. Where does the time go? Today & had my 9 year Grand ALL Day again. For the last two weeks when his Dad work (Mom has already started back to school) he is with me. Wait until Sterling is here... if you think you have no time now. Hee Hee

  3. The jewelery box is very pretty. The dull work can always wait. It will be there when you finish creating that beautiful whatever it is you want to creat. Charlene is right, very soon you are going to be having a lot less time. "But you won't mind".
    Hugs,
