Hi to everyone, and thank you, Beverly, for being such a wonderful hostess for each and every Pink Saturday....
It's always a fun day.
I only have one item this week, imagine that.
I usually have at least six or seven things to share, and could very well this week as well.
But I wanted to give "my girl" the glory she deserves for all the hard work she does.
I started painting ironing board girls about 14 years ago.
Being located within a very, very big antique mall with just a small space,
I knew I needed to draw attention to my booth......and these girls did it for me.
It's simply an old wooden ironing board, reconfigured to stand on it's end as a sign.
It is a chippey white with my sweet little girl taking up the whole front.
She holds a framed chalkboard for special notes and such.....welcomes, sales, thank you, new items....just anything you want to draw special attention to.
They also look sweet just holding a wreath or bouquet of flowers.
Over the years, I have painted over 30 of these pieces....
Always special order and occasionally just for me.
I have done Santas, Uncle Sam, Easter Bunnies.....and of course, little girls are my favorite.
If and when we open the Tea Room/Bakery, these will be our menu boards.....
Oh how cute this is. I've never seen one before. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteHi there! Oh, this is such a clever idea! How cute is this lady?! I haven't run across old ironing boards in several years...
