Last fall one of my BBDs.....(big black dogs) ran past my sweet pair of garden statues and knocked one off the table breaking off it's little head.
Well, although I threw the "body"away, I just couldn't toss the little head.....
I also had a really funky tassel from what I will call my "tassel days", and you know, we all had them, so don't go pretending you don't know what I'm talkin' about....;)..
The head stayed in a pot by the back door for months,
and I had the tassel hanging in a doll stand, so you know.....
it was just bound to happen.
I attached the clay head to the tassel after sanding the bottom just a little to smooth the rough edges..it was just so perfect for the little body with the tassel finial looking like it had a waist.
I added shards of antique silk velvet and a little beaded headpiece for the "crowning" touch.
I really love the verdigris finish she has on her face....
I mean, look at her....she's precious.
I dug around in the doll cabinet finding arms which gave her just a little more dimension.
They also work very well holding little vintage millinery forget me nots..
Shards of antique silk velvet combined with the tassel strands
complete the skirt.
This is how it all started........
And, of course, I had to do something with the leftover doll legs,
So they became little vases.
Hope you enjoyed seeing what found it's way out of my head today.......
It's not always roses'n lace........usually, but not always!
Thank you for stopping by today
I always love it when you come... ..
Love the use of antique pieces!

I love old statuary like this! I cannot bear to part with any of it even if it is broken. I have an area of my garden where I have broken pieces.......I call them my, "Fallen Angels"....wings, heads, bodies. I love what you did with yours. Have a great day!
