WOW....and Thank You!

The week was long and very physical.
All of the merchandise for the June 25 Le' Pre'miere
Had to be transported to the Shoppe and priced and staged.
The weather was extremely hot with the wind blowing making it seem
That much hotter.
Because of the rain and threat of rain earlier in the week, there was
Nothing that could be done until Thursday and Friday,
Which just wasn't enough time to to everything right.
Still, I made the most of it knowing it "was what it was".
I have a philosophy that if
"You can't run with the big dogs,
Then you just need to stay on the porch...."
I wanted to hide under the porch.

I tell everyone I am a "one woman" show, but this is where
I have to share the fact that sometimes.....actually alot of the time,
I DO have help and support.

Can you see my lil'mama in the bottom left of this photo?
That is her bending over cleaning the dresser.....
Probably not the best picture to share with you, but
She is 85 years old.....and STILL wearing shorts and working at my pace.

She is absolutely remarkable...

The picture above and below are of my very pregnant daughter.....
(It's a boy!!)
She is working away pricing everything on the back lot.
She is so wonderful....
She also ran the inside of the Shoppe on Saturday....
She is incredible with people and never stops smiling:)
And I can't leave out my sweet man.
He has never not been there for me
and
Works harder than anyone I know.
We celebrated our43rd anniversary just last week.
I had great plans of lots and lots of pictures to "wow" you with my endeavor.
It all started out great with camera in hand and me snapping away,
But that soon fell short as the people started
to come....
and  come,
and come.
So these are all I got.

Rachel and I were keeping up the pace outside
When the back door flew open and I saw a panicked look on my daughter's face....
I ran inside to find about 30 people packed inside the Shoppe......
There was a sale going on there as well and it was pretty intense.

The whole day went like that,
And I was amazed......and very thankful.

I am thankful I have the wonderful family to "bail" me out when I take on too much,
And the incredible customers that just keep coming.....

I had told my lil'mama the night before I was ready to sell it all and stay home
Taking care of dogs and cats and
Raising flowers......and kissing babies.

I start my sixth year in September....
I think I'll hang around to see what it brings.

I am thankful.....and I am blessed.

WOW, is all I can say.

Thanks for stopping by today,
You know I love it when you come.

Burlap and Lace Chair Redo....

I reupholstered this antique chair for the
March 12 Le'Pre'miere.
I knew I wasn't happy with it....
it just didn't look complete.
I simply ran out of time.

I'm happy to report I trusted my OWN judgment this time around,
and
Added all the elements I thought it needed.

A sweet double burlap ruffle
with an added row of lace as well.

And a little more distressing of the wood frame.
I've got to say this time around, I do believe I like it.
Of course, will be reoffered at the upcoming June 25th Le' Pre'miere......
We're counting down to Saturday....

The Count Down Begins.......

I not only concentrate on large pieces of furniture for the Le' Premiere Showcase Sale,
But I try to have a lot of what everyone loves in accessories and collectibles as well.
Plenty of ironstone and white pitchers.......on a precious wooden vanity tray.....
All white, of course
 Ironstone platters stacked and ready.
The largest one on the bottom is actually almost 20" wide....

Sweet nothings to touch your heart.....
A little bling this time around.......
This is good stuff.
And who couldn't use some Fairy Dust?
 Divine lighting for the event....
Not only is this to die for, but there is a PAIR.
Just a little tease for the upcoming sale this Saturday.......
There's some really wonderful stuff this time around.

Thanks for stopping by today,
You know I love it when you come.

If you visit and choose to follow,
Please know I always follow back.

You just gotta love white.

Chicken Wire Bridal Crown

Do you always plan your projects ahead of time,
or do you simply wait until something "inspires" you....
Never really knowing what the day will bring?

I have to say I am a little of both, but the
Projects I enjoy the very, very most are the ones that "just happen".
You know, the ones that get done when you know there are other things
You really should be doing, but it just can't wait to be created.

And this is one of those :)
Having brought home a huge roll of rusty chicken wire from my
Lil'mama's farm, I am always thinking of things it can do.
Firstly I made the chicken wire cloches.....
Then the chicken wire mannequins....
and
Now, the bridal crown.
I haven't made many crowns, although they are quite popular.
Just haven't been motivated, I guess.
Somehow, today was different.
All it took was a scrap piece of wire I tripped on the in back lot when
Moving the sprinkler and I was set to go.
Of course, you knew it would be lacey and girlie.....
if you know me at all :)

A view from the front....

 And close up....

 Then from the side....

 And, of course, the back....

With a full inside shot as well....
Don't know why some creations "just happen",
But I'm glad they do.......

Thanks for stopping by today,

Happy Weekend.

Creating My Way Into Oblivion

Aside from painting masses of furniture for the upcoming
June 25 Le' Pre'miere Summer Showcase Sale,
I also like to add some of my own personal "flava" to the event.
That's why I generally take about a week before the date
and
Just create my way to oblivion...or insanity...
Not sure there is much of a difference sometimes.

These little lamp shades top two precious bakelite and glass lamps......
Sold separately or together...you decide.

I'm also doing my best to get a few of the ruffled canvas bags completed....
This would be number 2....,:)
And a really ambitious project on my part are altered trunks.
I hope to have three completed for the day's sale.
This one's theme is "lost love".

I like them to look as though they have been stored away in a dirty attic for years.

The other two will depict a baby theme and also a bridal design.....
or that is the plan :)

There is still alot to do, but I'm having so much fun.
I hope if you are local you can come.....
I promise lots of shade....and cold drinks.

Thanks for stopping by today.
You know I love it when you come.
AND
If this is your first visit and you choose to follow,
Please know I always follow back :)

Stay Cool.

There are wonderful things to see so go on over.

Le' Pre'miere Sea of White......

The "paint fest" continues as I ready for the second
Le' Pre'miere Quarterly Showcase Sale on
June 25th.....

My backyard is full to the brim with pieces of antique and vintage
furniture in various states of completion.

I feel certain all the mammals will be grateful when all is moved
To the Shoppe as it is slowing down their chasing squirrels......

But there are also pieces at the Shoppe that are receiving a makeover
For the upcoming event.
This wonderful old china cabinet had it's last chance to be sold in it's original state.

(Who says I don't save a buck whenever I can?)
Oops paint at Home Depot is a life saver.....
I use a dry brush technique so it is easier to distress.....

It takes about  two or three coats, but I like it better than thick primer.

You put it on, and "knock" a little bit of it off.....

And the same technique with these antique trunks......

And just a little funky something I'm working on.
The insides to an antique wall clock......
Great as a photo holder...
